Avoid surgery during your menstrual period. (During the period, you might have lots of bruises due to severe bleeding)
    • Do not smoke
Do not smoke from 3 days before the surgery. (The toxic substances of cigarette can cause phlegm or sneezing and bleeding for several days after surgery.)
    • No lotion or toner
Do not put on lotion or skin toner after shower or washing the face.
    • Medicaitons
Do not take any medicine other than that prescribed by the doctor.
    • No Aspirin
Avoid taking aspirin from 4 days before the surgery since it hinders hemostasis.
    • Take a shower before the surgery
We recommend cleaning the whole body with soft soap the day before the surgery.
    • 4 hours of fasting
Take your last meal 4 hours before the surgery when you are to be administered local anesthesia.
      (Eat easily digestible food).
    • Prepare comfortable cloths and goods for the surgery
Wear comfortable and casual clothing; do not put anything on your hair. Prepare scarf, cap, or colored glasses to use after surgery.
  • Cautions after rhinoplasty
    • No smoking and drinking
Avoid drinking and smoking for at least 2~3 weeks after surgery.
    • Swelling
The area around the nose can be swollen for the first 2 days after surgery.
(Swelling for at least 1~2 days is a natural symptom. It will subside slowly from the third day of surgery.)
    • Small bleeding
You might have bloody water coming through your surgery spot for 2~3 days after surgery.
(In such case, simply wipe it gently with tissue or gauze)
    • Use high pillow
Use a high pillow when sleeping to reduce swelling after surgery.
    • Ice pack
Put an ice pack around the nose for 2 days after surgery to alleviate the swelling.
(In this case, take care not to wet the tape.)
    • Leave the scabs
Do not forcibly take off scab after the surgery because it blocks your nose.
    • Don’t blow the nose
Do not blow your nose too hard until 3 weeks after surgery. It can cause micro-bleeding inside the nose.
    • Be careful of the physical irritations
Be sure to avoid external force or shock for one month after surgery. (Strong shock or force can dislocate the prosthetic material.)
    • Exercising
Casual exercise such as walking is possible right after surgery.
(We recommend doing exercises that induce profuse sweating, such as aerobics and jogging, 2~3 weeks after surgery.)
    • No glasses
Do not wear glasses or sunglasses for one month after surgery.
    • How to wash the hair
When washing your hair for the first several days after surgery, take care not to wet the tape on your nose. Lie down to wash your hair.
